Author Program - A Settler's Year: Pioneer Life Through The Seasons - Fox Lake IL

Photo of the Fox Lake District Library in Fox Lake, Illinois.Join bestselling author Kathleen Ernst on a picturesque illustrated journey through the seasonal experiences that shaped the lives of Wisconsin's European and Yankee settlers. She will be speaking at Fox Lake District Library in Fox Lake, Illinois, on Thursday, September 13th. Kathleen's presentation will begin at 6:00 PM.

It's a trip Ernst that navigates well -- as both a former curator at Old World Wisconsin and as the author of A Settler's Year: Pioneer Life through the Seasons (Wisconsin Historical Society Press).

Afterwards she will answer audience questions, and sign books (copies will be available for purchase).

Kathleen is a frequent guest on Wisconsin Public Radio's popular The Larry Meiller Show, where she has spoken about A Settler's Year and her Wisconsin-based Chloe Ellefson mystery series for adults.

In addition to non-fiction and mysteries, Kathleen writes historical fiction for adults and young readers. Her work has earned numerous honors, including an Emmy, a Children's Literature Award from the Society of Midland Authors, an Anne Powers Prize for Best Fiction Book as well as five Arthur Tofte Juvenile Literature Awards from the Council for Wisconsin Writers, and nominations for an Edgar Allan Poe and four Agatha Christie mystery awards.

To date readers have purchased over 1.7 million copies of Kathleen's thirty-six published books.
