Launch Event - Mining For Justice - Cornish Fest - Mineral Point, WI

Join bestsellMineral Point Wisconsin Annual Cornish Festival logoing author Kathleen Ernst at Cornish Festival in Mineral Point as she celebrates the release of Mining for Justice, her new mystery about Cornish immigrants who settled in Mineral Point to mine lead!

The story takes place in 1983 and features the Pendarvis Historic Site. There is also an historical thread set during the 1820s and 1830s in Mineral Point and Cornwall, England.

Mining For Justice is the eighth book in Kathleen's popular, award-winning, Wisconsin-based Chloe Ellefson mystery series -- and her thirty-sixth published book overall.

Cornish Fest elebrates the Cornish culture, which runs deep in Southwest Wisconsin. The 3-day festival features craft demonstrations, tours, food, and offers plenty of family-fun. 

Kathleen will be taking part in the following signings and activities:

Saturday - September 30th

11:00 AM to Noon - Author Presentation
Opera House, 139 High Street - Free and open to the public. 

Kathleen will open a window into her creative and research processes, sharing some of the challenges she encountered working to construct a riveting mystery while remaining true to historical events and the people whose lives she seeks to honor. Afterwards she will be signing books, copies of which will be available for purchase.

1:00 to 5:00 PM - Crowdy Crawn 
Pendarvis Historic Site Education Center, Spruce Street - Free and open to the public. 

A Cornish expression, Crowdy Crawn refers to entertainment that is "a mixture of things."  This year’s event will include traditional craft demonstrations such as spinning, quilting, basket making, knitting, and rug hooking, and Cornish storytelling. Kathleen will be meeting readers and signing books, copies of which will be available for purchase.

5:30 to 8:00 PM - Cornish Pasty Supper 
The Walker House, 1 Water Street - Open to the public; no reservation needed.

Dine at The historic Walker (house salad, beef pasty, pasty sauce, saffron bun, Figgyhobbin, Wollersheim Red/White Wine or New Glarus Spotted Cow beer, or other Beverage (Soda, Coffee, Tea). Pizza for kids. Entertainment with ghosts and Tommyknockers. $14.25 + tax., 9 and under $6.65 + tax. Kathleen will be meeting readers and signing books, copies of which will be available for purchase.

Sunday - October 1st

11:00 to Noon - Author Presentation 
Pendarvis Historic Site Education Center, Spruce Street - Free and open to the public. 

Join Kathleen for a presentation featuring the buildings and artifacts at Pendarvis that inspired the plot. Books will be available for purchase and Kathleen will be signing them. And you'll have plenty of time to tour Pendarvis afterwards!
